Jonathan Hempstead

Hi, I'm Jonathan.

I write picture books and early readers for children who feel things deeply — and for the grown-ups who want to help them make sense of it all.

My stories celebrate the small and the shy, the silly and the searching. Whether it's a pocket-sized penguin learning he's braver than he thinks, a chicken having an identity crisis, or a little cloud that won't stop following a girl around — my books explore big feelings through gentle humor and heartfelt moments.

I believe every kid deserves stories that make them laugh, help them feel understood, and remind them that even the smallest voice matters.

"My books are for bedtimes, quiet afternoons, and any moment a child needs to hear that who they are is exactly enough."
